We have been working to get everyone registered for our RE program. This year we are not charging a registration fee, following a decision by the Board last year. However, it is still important to register so that we will have your contact information. Many RE parents have email and often RE announcements are sent out by email. So don’t forget to check you email. Also the registration gives us a release for your children to be involved and that is important. And finally, when registering your child you get an opportunity to let Jennifer, the DRE, know when you would be available to volunteer with the RE program. If you have not registered yet, please see Jennifer. On October 22nd we will be having a fire drill during our RE program. We will not be disrupting service with this but it may disrupt coffee hour. It is important that we do this during the year so that we have some sense of what to do in an emergency. This month the RE committee will be meeting on October 24th instead of the 31st, so as not to conflict with Halloween. If there is any feedback about our RE program that you would like to give the committee, please feel free to contact Jennifer Hamlin-Navias, the DRE, or Stephanie Cross, the chair. Also a reminder that October 29th is our Memory Tree Service. For those of you who are new to May, this is an intergenerational service. We will have childcare for infant through preschool but K – adult will be upstairs in community in the sanctuary for the whole time. During this service we will have a time to remember those who have died, special music, a special story presentation. It will be a service that speaks to all ages. —Jennifer Hamlin-Navias, Director of RE |
